About
I am Rauf Shah, MS, PhD, MPH-Epidemiology (Expected Fall 2026), a health data and public health professional preparing for leadership and faculty-facing roles in epidemiology, surveillance, infectious disease, chronic disease, health data quality, and academic program improvement.
I currently serve as Lead Health Data Coordinator Level II at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology, where my work supports clinical research, health data quality, and evidence-ready reporting.
Professional Positioning
My work connects four areas that often need to speak more clearly to one another:
- Clinical and registry data: cohort coordination, data quality, reporting readiness, and documentation.
- Scientific and analytic background: research interpretation, reproducible analysis, and practical evidence translation.
- Public health and epidemiology: surveillance quality, infectious disease and chronic disease priorities, equity-aware analysis, population thinking, and practical communication.
- Teaching and academic quality: curriculum service, instructional design, rubrics, feedback systems, and standards that people can use.
What I Am Building Toward
I am positioning my next phase of work around public health leadership and academic roles where I can contribute to:
- infectious disease, chronic disease, cancer, and population health data systems;
- public health analytics and evidence translation;
- graduate and professional teaching in public health, epidemiology, surveillance, and applied health data;
- academic quality, accreditation support, and curriculum improvement;
- collaborative research that connects clinical evidence, public health questions, and practical action.
